Galaxy S4 mini confirmed on Samsung's UK apps page

Galaxy S4 mini confirmed on Samsung's UK apps page
When will Samsung officially unveil the Galaxy S4 mini?

Following numerous rumours and leaks, the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini has appeared on the company's official apps page in the UK.

The smaller and scaled back version of the flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone has yet to be officially confirmed by Samsung, but various reports have suggested it's on the way this July.

The phone's appearance on the UK Content & Services website seems to end any lingering doubt.

No specs have revealed, and there's no sign of a release date and, as Engadget reports, the phone is only appearing on the UK website at present, which hints at a European launch.

Big brother

The forthcoming launch of the Galaxy S4 mini follows last year's Galaxy S3 mini, which sought to lower the cost, but offer all of the same software features while maintaining the design aesthetic in a smaller body.

That handset didn't perform quite as well as its illustrious big brother, critically and commercially, so it'll be interesting to see what Samsung comes up with when it officially unveils the Galaxy S4 mini.

Nokia plans a limited Superman-branded Lumia 925

Following the footsteps of last year's Batman themed Nokia Lumia 900, the Finnish company is about to release another superhero themed Windows Phone flagship. The freshly announced Nokia Lumia 925 Superman Limited Edition will land on the Chinese market a day after the Man of Steel movie's official June 14 launch.

The Nokia Lumia 925 Superman Limited Edition will be available in an initial run of 925 devices. The Nokia flagship will feature a Superman livery on its back. A wireless charging cover, gone through the same visual treatment will also be available for purchase as a separate accessory when the smartphone becomes available.

As far as specs go, the limited edition Nokia Lumia 925 will be no different than its plain vanilla sibling which we extensively previewed.

Software-wise, the smartphone will most probably come with the just released Man of Steel Windows Phone 8 app, which has been developed exclusively for Nokia Lumia devices. It features different challenges, whose completion will unlock exclusive multimedia content such as wallpapers, ringtones, and DC Comics digital comic books.

The Nokia Lumia 926 Superman Limited Edition will be priced at CNY 3,999 ($652; €505) when released in China. There's no info on other markets, though it will be surprising if the tricked out Lumia 925 doesn't make it beyond China.

Samsung Galaxy S4 mini appears on the Samsung Apps website

We have been hearing about the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini for quite some time now but Samsung is yet to officially announce the device. Now, the phone has suddenly appeared on the Samsung Apps website alongside other Samsung phones.

There is not much information regarding the handset on the site, considering the site's focus is on apps. All we learn is that the phone looks very similar to the Galaxy S4 (as do most other Samsung phones these days), has the new weather widget from the S4 as well, which means the phone likely runs on Android 4.2.2 similar to the S4 (and expected shortly for the S III) and that the model number is GT-I9195.

After this official ‘leak’ we are expecting a proper announcement shortly.

Official white LG Nexus 4 photos leak, no sight of a 32GB model

So far we've had plenty of eyes-on's with the white version of the LG Nexus 4 thanks to numerous leaks of photos of the device in the wild, but nothing official. Android Police however claims to has acquired a set of official photos of the smartphone.

Despite not being in the large resolution we'd like to see, the press shots of the white Nexus 4 still looks great.

Tipped to launch on June 10, Google's smartphone is also rumored to launch with Android 4.3 on board. Judging from the latest batch of evidence, that's not too unlikely to happen.

Sadly, according to the report, it's highly unlikely for Google and LG to offer a 32GB version of the smartphone. The tip suggests it will launch in the usual 8GB and 16GB flavors. The model number of the white Nexus 4 is also changed from the original E960 to E960W.
