Nokia Lumia 830 leaks - let's be honest, it's just a Chinese variant

Nokia Lumia 830 leaks - let's be honest, it's just a Chinese variant
Don't get too excited people

The Nokia Lumia 830 has appeared in leaked pictures online, but reports it'll be a budget WIndows Phone 8 handset are rather unlikely.

Images appeared on Chinese website WPDang showing the Lumia 830 in five different hues, but precious little information accompanied them (and WPDang has a hit and miss reputation with leaks).

Some have suggested the Lumia 830 could be the Windows Phone 8 successor to the Nokia Lumia 710, however that seems pretty unlikely – our money is on a region specific version of the 820.

The evidence? Nokia has already said it's naming process would be more transparent: lower numbers at the start would mean cheaper handsets, so beginning with an '8' wouldn't make it any lower-priced than the current 820.

Nokia Lumia 830

Is that an HTC?

If the handsets in the photos are Lumia 830, then it looks like Nokia will be moving slightly away from the design is used for the Lumia 820, as it looks more like the HTC 8X for the Chinese market.

There hasn't been any word from Nokia about its future Windows Phone 8 devices, but we can be pretty sure more models will be entering the market early next year.

TechRadar will be in attendance at CES and MWC in the first couple of months of 2013 to bring you all the latest mobile news live as it happens.

Samsung I9260 Galaxy Premier images leak

We have seen some images of the Samsung I9260 Galaxy Premier in the past but they have mostly showed the front of the device. But these latest pictures show us some of the other sides of the device, including the back.

The Galaxy Premier looks very similar to the Galaxy S III from the front, but has a prominent chrome strip around the bezel. The sides use glossy plastic and the back looks like it is matte, just like on the Galaxy Nexus.

From the previous leaks we know that the Galaxy Premier has a 4.65-inch, 1280 x 720 resolution display, 8 megapixel camera, dual-core 1.5GHz processor (we're guessing the TI OMAP4470), 1GB RAM, 8 megapixel camera, 16GB internal memory and microSD card slot.

One would assume why Samsung would be releasing a phone with specs so close to the Galaxy S III, but they could just be trying to fill the hole that would be left in their line-up once the Galaxy Nexus gets replaced by the LG Nexus 4 next week.

LG Nexus 4 moniker all but confirmed via EXIF info

Everyone and their grandmother is probably familiar with the LG-made next-gen Nexus device by now with all the information like pictures, camera samples, more pictures and even preliminary reviews popping up for days on end.

One of the last details we're in the dark on is the retail name of the LG E960. We came up with Optimus Nexus on our own, and we even had an alleged insider tip about Nexus HD, all the while the internet rumor mill has been referring to it merely as the LG Nexus phone.

Today however, we stumbled upon some LG Nexus camera samples on Picasa, where the EXIF data calls the devices LG Nexus 4.

This embedded image information is very easy to fake or tweak, mind you, so we may see more developments on the subject of the next Nexus' name.

Just to clear the air the Nexus 4 packs a Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset with four ferocious Krait cores inside, an 8 MP snapper, 2 GB worth of RAM and a 4.7 True-HD IPS display of 768 x 1280 pixels resolution and most importantly, has Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on tap.

An unverified October 29 date has been pinpointed as the day Google will step forth and unleash the Nexus 4 to the world.
